Once you got to know which device is the reason why the cursor on the laptop jumps around you can fix it or re-connect it to get the issue resolved. Try to disconnect them one by one to better understand which one is the culprit. The externally connected input devices might be causing this to happen. There is the possibility that the problem is not with your Mouse or Touchpad. Did you Try Disconnecting the Input Devices? This can be done in ‘Control Panel’ again through the Hardware tab and then the ‘Troubleshoot’ button. You can also use manual troubleshooting solutions if you suspect any software fault. You may need to re-calibrate these settings to maximize the efficiency of your device. Go to the ‘Control Panel’ and look for the Mouse settings or Touchpad settings. Check all the required updates and any malware that might be causing your cursor to jump around. Your mouse might be running out of battery or maybe your device drivers need an antivirus. Just like our laptops and smartphones need to stay updated to perform better, similarly, the mouse, keypad, or touchpad drivers should be updated to work appropriately. Wipe your touchpad with a damp cloth or tissue paper to remove any grease or particles from its surface. And the oil, the lotions, or the tiny particles of snacks we enjoy while working may leave their traces on the touchpad. When we use our laptops we sometimes forget to wipe our hands before touching the touchpad.
